1-8-21  THOUGHTS

I did a search on the word “therefore” a few days ago, and our thoughts this morning come from the results of that search.  “THEREFORE” is a connecting word.  It ties something before to something now or something to come.  It is often used in the Bible to connect a promise or a prophecy to a current happening.
Peter uses the term most effectively in his sermon in Acts chapter 2.  He cites promise made to David to bring us to the climax of Acts 2:36.  The ”that God has made Him both Lord and Christ — this Jesus whom you crucified." is a logical progression developed by God throughout history.  The logic proceeds to man.  1.  Therefore “Repent” Acts 3:19   2.  Therefore “preach the word”!   We have our lives in a nutshell in these passages.  The SENSE OF ALL ETERNITY IS   “THEREFORED”   TOGETHER!  Man must THEREFORE RESPOND!

Acts 2:26   ‘THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE;
Acts 2:30   "And so [therefore KJV], because he was a prophet and knew that GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH TO SEAT one OF HIS DESCENDANTS ON HIS THRONE,
Acts 2:33   "Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.
Acts 2:36   "Therefore let all the house of Israel
know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ — this Jesus whom you crucified."
Acts 3:19   "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;
Acts 8:4     Therefore, those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.

Acts 8:4 is a segue to this Sunday’s lesson.  We will consider the words of an old song.
“If the name of the savior is precious to you, if his care has been constant and tender and true...
If the light of HIS PRESENCE HAS BRIGHTENED YOUR WAY...  O will you not TELL of your gladness today?”   [song by Jessie H. Brown Pounds (1861-1921)]
The THEREFORE TELL, springs from THE EVER PRESENT JESUS!
It’s just NATURAL!

My Prayer:
Lord give us a spontaneous, loving, humble, boldness to occupy whatever room we are in, with your name and the truth of your son Jesus.  May we respond to your love as your children should.
In Jesus name     Amen
